‘I had planned to give up smoking for a while. I had always enjoyed smoking and seen it as a choice. Importantly, hypnotherapy helped me realize that it wasn’t something I chose to do but had to do through a habit. Arranging a meeting with Lisa was a crucial first step and became a cut off point at which I would stop with no more room for procrastination. I was nervous and apprehensive at first as I did not know what to expect but Lisa put me at ease, talking through it with warmth and energy. After the session, I didn’t crave cigarettes. It was no longer logical and it didn’t make sense. I almost immediately felt the sensation of forgetting what it was like to be a smoker. I haven’t thought about smoking since.
